SMA Safety Programs Information
Since its inception, the Screen Manufacturers Association (SMA) has spearheaded industry and consumer-oriented programs dealing with screen safety issues.
Since its inception, SMA has spearheaded industry and consumer-oriented programs dealing with screen safety issues. SMA has assumed a leadership role in working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the National Safety Council, the National Fire Protection Association, and the National Safe Kids Campaign in the development of public service programs dealing with screen safety.
SMA's "Kids Can't Fly" programs have gained national recognition in promoting the concept that screens are designed to provide homeowners with great ventilation and to keep insects out--and they are not designed to keep small children in!
SMA's Public Relations programs have played a key role in the dissemination of consumer information in the form of literature, press releases and participation in many national safety forums.
In addition, SMA actively promotes its screen labeling program as still another facet of its on- going public information and safety program.
